Pricing and terms
What does each path cost?
Starter is $149 one-time. Custom is $695 one-time. Guided is $595 setup plus $39 per month. Managed is $695 setup plus $99 per month. See the full comparison.
Why is there a three-month initial period on Guided and Managed?
Because a financial system needs a few cycles to prove itself. One month tells you almost nothing; three months shows you real patterns, a real payoff trajectory and at least one surprise month.
Your first three months are designed to get your PurposeBuilt system fully established. After that, continue month-to-month for as long as the service is valuable to you. Cancel anytime after your initial three months.
Does Starter or Custom have a commitment?
No. Starter and Custom are clean one-time purchases. Nothing recurs, nothing auto-renews, and there is nothing to cancel.
What do Guided and Managed cost over a full year?
Guided: $595 setup plus $39 × 12 = $1,063 in the first year, then $468 a year afterward. Managed: $695 setup plus $99 × 12 = $1,883 in the first year, then $1,188 a year afterward. Run your own numbers with the cost calculator.
Can I move between paths later?
Yes, and nothing gets rebuilt. Custom clients who later want accountability move into Guided or Managed and keep the system they already paid for. Managed clients who want to take the wheel can step down after their initial three months.
Privacy and information
Do you connect to my bank accounts?
No. There are no linked logins, no read-only connections and no aggregator. We don't need access to your accounts — we need enough information to help you understand them. Everything comes from what you deliberately provide.
What will you never ask me for?
Your Social Security or taxpayer ID number, passwords, PINs or login credentials, complete account numbers, your date of birth, verification codes, or security question answers. None of it improves the math. Read the full Privacy Promise.
Do I have to hand over my credit-card transactions?
No. Credit-card transaction history is optional on every plan and in every monthly update, and we tell you that before you pay — not after. Providing it makes the spending analysis more complete. Declining it costs you nothing and prompts no follow-up.
There are purchases I don't want anyone to see. Now what?
Black out the description and leave the date and amount. We categorize it as Private/Other, count it in your totals, and never ask. Your cash-flow analysis stays accurate to the dollar and your privacy stays intact.
Why do you need the interest rate on my debts?
Because without it, a payoff date is a guess. Balance and payment alone can't tell you when a debt ends or what it will cost. With the APR we can show real payoff dates, real total interest, and the real dollar difference between paying the highest rate first versus the smallest balance first.
Can I have my documents deleted after the build?
Yes. Ask, and the source documents you sent are destroyed once your Command Center is built. You keep the system; we keep as little as possible.
The work itself
How long does the build take?
Five to seven business days from the point we have your completed intake and the documents you chose to send. Then we schedule your 60-minute Reveal.
How long does the intake take me?
Twenty to thirty minutes for the Custom intake, and it saves as you go, so you can stop and come back. The Starter setup is shorter. The Managed monthly update takes about ten minutes because it arrives pre-filled with your accounts.
What exactly do I receive?
A Command Center built around your accounts, plus the 60-minute Reveal walkthrough. Inside: net worth, cash flow, debt modeling with rates, goal tracking, scenario modeling, your Questions Worth Asking and your PurposeBuilt Scorecard. Look inside it.
What is the PurposeBuilt Scorecard measuring?
One thing: where you said you wanted to go versus where you are now. It is not a financial-health grade, and it does not compare you to national averages or to anyone else. Your benchmark is your own stated intent.
What's actually different about Starter?
Starter is self-service by design, not a cheaper version of the custom work. It collects balances, debt balances with APRs and minimum payments, due dates, income and goals — and you enter your own expense estimates. It does not include transaction ledgers, spending analysis by us, a custom build, or the Reveal session.
I'm a couple with completely separate finances. Does this work?
Yes. The intake asks how you actually operate — fully joint, fully separate, or some hybrid — and the Command Center is structured to match. We don't force a household into one shape.
What if my information doesn't reconcile?
We ask you one clear question rather than guessing. Nothing in your system is built on an assumption you didn't confirm.
What this isn't
Is this financial advice?
No. PurposeBuilt Money provides budgeting tools, financial organization, and educational modeling — not investment, tax, legal, or credit-repair advice. Scenarios are mathematical illustrations based on the information you provide, not predictions. For decisions requiring licensed expertise, consult an appropriately credentialed professional.
Will you sell me insurance, funds, or a product?
No. There is nothing to sell you beyond the four paths on this site. No commissions, no referral kickbacks, no product placement inside your Command Center.
Can you fix my credit?
No, and anyone promising that deserves scrutiny. What we can do is show you exactly what you owe, at what rate, and what the fastest mathematically sound path out looks like.
